Guernsey Power Station is located in the heart of Ohio’s shale gas development area. The plant has direct access to an abundant, stable supply of clean-burning natural gas from the Utica and Marcellus shale plays. The plant also has direct access to existing overhead electrical transmission lines.

Guernsey Power Station provides its power to the PJM market. PJM is a Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
