As previously communicated on July 20, 2023, the 2nd unit was shutdown normally on July 22, 2023, for a planned eight (8) day outage to align some equipment. PJM cancelled the planned outage without notice and required the 2nd unit to restart. The 2nd unit was restarted this morning, July 24, 2023, at approximately 7:00am and therefore, elevated noise during the restart may have been heard because a restart requires the unit to be operated on bypass (elevated noise) until the unit is fully back on-line.
The work to align the equipment was not completed prior to PJM’s mandatory restart and therefore, the 2nd unit will be shutdown next week to complete the originally planned equipment alignment. The date of the 2nd unit shutdown will be communicated when known.
